Our research consultation and capacity building are multi-disciplinary and inter-disciplinary–particularly uniting information technology, innovations, and development-related disciplines. We focus on all five stages of the informatics lifecycle: development, implementation, adoption, use and impact; as well as overarching issues of strategy and policy. Developed countries still take a leading position in developing inventions, and conducting scientific research, while low resources countries suffer from significant skill gaps in the same fields. Africa has low research production and innovation capacity that would address its local development challenges. Strengthening Africa’s research and development capacity can result in the continent’s sustainable economic future. This can yield strengthened future generations that can initiate society positive changes, and apply their knowledge for socioeconomic development.
